Stunning and substantial late Victorian sterling silver ladle with thick gauge and marks for Mappin Brothers, London, 1900. All the hallmarks of quality with beautiful double-struck Kings Pattern. This mark was used from 1892 to 1901, when their premises were at the prestigious Regent Street, London address.
The Mappin Brothers were excellent silversmiths, and John Mappin would later merge with others to form the renowned company Mappin & Webb.
Price marked at $3750 AUD.
Measurements: 33cm length. Bowl measurements 11 by 9.5 cm, 3.5cm height. 303.3 grams total weight.
Excellent antique condition with light wear commensurate with age. Marks crisp and well-struck.
