A beautiful antique late Victorian crested sterling silver salver, with marks for London, 1884, Walter & John Barnard. This mark was used from 1877 to 1895. A elegant piece, profusely engraved with three scrolled feet. Of thick gauge, the salver is engraved with a crest depicting a Demi-lion rampant holding a mullet of six points, with a shield below also bearing a mullet of six points.
The Barnard silversmithing company is one of the oldest in the world, with its origins dating to 1680 (founded by Anthony Nelme). A beautiful piece with excellent craftsmanship, befitting the illustrious Barnard name.

Measurements: 26cm diameter, 2.5cm height. 505.5grams.
Very good antique condition, with light wear overall commensurate with age.
