Late 19th century Royal Vienna neoclassical plate

A beautiful late 19th century Royal Vienna neoclassical plate, decorated richly with gilt patterns and scenes inspired by classical antiquity. Originally this would have sat under a matching ewer vase, but with its raised centre and interior bowl rim, this would still make a beautiful presentation plate or as an accent piece under a crystal or porcelain fruit bowl.

The original Royal Vienna porcelain works was much renowned during the late 18th century, and during the later half of the 19th century, numerous studios and manufacturers used the Royal Vienna mark in homage to the Royal Vienna works.

These 19th century pieces remain highly collectible as art pieces in their own right.

Good antique condition. One hairline crack to back of plate which does not go all the way through as pictured. Rubbing to gilt as pictured to interior and exterior rim.
