A beautiful High Victorian 4 piece condiment set with tray, with marks for London, 1875/1876, George Fox. Beautifully made and by a highly regarded maker, this piece would be perfect for an elegant dining table.
Beautifully made, the tray has an elegant pierced design and the condiment containers is well fitted to the tray.
The collars and lids to the condiment jars bear an assay mark for 1875, which is likely due to the date cycle used at the London assay office of the time.
The set comprises of a salt cellar, pepperette, mustard jar vinaigrette/oil container and tray, beautifully made from sterling silver and cut glass. Beautifully engraved with a crest of a whale; which we have yet to determine based upon research. If anyone recognises this family crest, please let us know and it would be greatly appreciated.
Price marked at $1500 AUD.
Measurements: 369.3 grams total weight. 10.5cm high from base of tray to top of bottle, 14.5cm length from tray to handle.
