Antique Edwardian 24 piece cased set of Kings Pattern sterling silver fish servers, with marks for Sheffield, 1903, James Dixon & Sons. A fine and prolific maker, the firm’s premises at that time were on Cornish Place, Sheffield. James Dixon & Sons Ltd was active from 1871 to 2004, and was known as one of the foremost names in Victorian silverware.
Beautiful timber case, sumptuously lined in blue silk, with two velvet-lined compartments within containing 24 fish forks and servers to serve 12 people. The fish forks and servers are in the Kings Pattern to both sides, with tines, blades, ferrules and weighted handles all bearing assay marks for sterling.
