Vintage Showa Period Ginbari Ando Company Cloisonne Picture, Ando Shippoyaki 1983

This lovely vintage Ando Company Cloisonné Picture is a rare and lovely piece. Produced in 1983, the 58th year of the Showa Period, this piece has an unusual motif depicting a blue and white porcelain vase.

Ando Jubei was one of the greatest Meiji period artists whose innovations helped usher in the “Golden Age for Japanese cloisonné”. Jubei’s successors, the Ando Company (Ando Shippoyaki), are known for their exceptionally fine cloisonné work. The Ando company currently does not produce this design.

Still in original box and with plaque inscriptions intact.
