A charming vintage Royal Crown Derby “Farmyard Cockerel” paperweight figurine of 1st quality, which was released in 2003 as an exclusive event piece. Modelled by Robert Jefferson and designed by Tien Manh Dinh.
The figurine is signed by John Ablitt to the base and is numbered 2987 out of a limited edition release of 5000. This is a wonderful example of RCD with its richly gilded details and beautiful Imari-inspired details. With its jade green, cobalt and scarlet plumage this Farmyard Cockerel is a stunning example of Royal Crown Derby’s art.
As part of this item’s provenance we have included a newspaper clipping of this figurine’s original release in New Zealand which includes the date that John Ablitt would have signed this piece- the 6th November, 2003.

Excellent vintage condition with minor wear overall commensurate with age, marks crisp and clear. Gold stopper denoting first quality.
