Beautiful vintage, possibly antique Thai sterling silver cased table lighter, circa first half of 20th century, possibly pre-1939. Lovely repousse work with motifs of Buddha and Garuda to the front and back. The Garuda is the national emblem of Thailand and known there as Phra Khrut Pha. With origins in Hindu and Buddhist mythology, the Garuda has been worshipped as a deity and divine symbol of Vishnu for centuries across Southeast Asia. Stamped Siam Sterling to the weighted base.

The table lighter itself is a slighter later model which is removable from the sterling silver case, and is a rare refillable Ronson Varaflame lighter, made in England circa 1957 to 1960s.

Price marked at $500 AUD.

Measurements: 6.5cm high, 8.5cm by 4cm base measurements, 252.1 grams total weight. 178.5grams, weighted base only.

Excellent vintage condition.
