Vintage possibly antique Chinese export silver commemorative plaque with inscription dated 1928
Beautiful vintage possibly antique Chinese export silver trophy plaque with original timber base and inscription dated 1928, presented to Mrs AL Lorntsen by the Liu or Lau family. Based upon research we believe that the Lorntsens was a family active in Shanghai during the early 20th century that left for Australia in the 1930s.
No maker’s or retailer’s mark to front but tests as silver between .850 to .900 silver purity. Very finely made with beautiful hand-hammered details and repousse work.
Price marked at $1200 AUD.
Measurements: 31cm high, 24cm across at widest point.
Excellent antique condition overall, some wear to back of timber base; not noticeable when displayed.
