Here we have a vintage late 20th century Chinese ginger jar. Most likely from Canton, it is done with 20th century Jingdezhen style border patterns but a traditional Cantonese style “One Hundred Flowers” pattern to the body, with rich famille rose like shading and gilt background details. An apocryphal Qianlong reign mark with red hand-painted seal to base.
We believe this to originally have been a jar missing its lid, but this would also make a very nice meiping vase due to its balustraded form. A charming vintage piece.
Price marked at $160 AUD.
Measurements: 19cm high, 12cm diameter.
Excellent vintage condition. Minor firing flaws and minor wear overall commensurate with age. Wear to base.
