This lovely vintage Chinese souvenir fishbowls is beautifully made. The ground of eggshell porcelain and richly and-painted enamels makes this a charming piece to use and display. The base marks indicate that these are Chinese Swatow Enamels (Cai), made in a famille style as Swatow enamelware is traditionally associated with the nearby province of Guangzhou, made circa 1970s. Rich gilt accents and household motifs complete the design. One especially nice detail is the handpainted goldfish within the fishbowl; not to mention its custom box.
Price marked at AUD$140 . Measurements: 8.5cm dia., 6.5cm high. Condition: Excellent vintage condition. Bowl and base show light signs of wear.
