A handsome Victorian sterling silver tea caddy spoon, with marks for Birmingham 1844, George Unite, a notable silversmith of his time.  A classic example of his work, with a square shovel-shaped bowl and Rococo Revival patterns etched on the handle typical of the period. Tea was a luxury at the time, with utensils to match accordingly With crisp hallmarks, this is a very desirable piece for collectors of antique English silver.
