Stunning Victorian sterling silver coffee or hot water urn with marks for London, 1873, Thomas White who was active from 1869 to 1885.

This is one of the finest tea pots we have come across, with an urn-shaped body and profuse engraving throughout, with various motifs including ivy, shamrocks and florals. One cartouche is engraved with a crest depicting a helmed knight holding a sword above a heraldic device. The cartouche to the back is blank.

This last exchanged hands in 1985 and was sold from a prestigious antiques business in Mosman; the original paperwork for this will be provided to purchaser.
