Set of Victorian Sugar Tongs, Provincial Scottish Silver. Andrew Wilkie, Edinburgh, 1840.

A lovely elegant set of tongs with escalloped details to the handle and grips. Made by Andrew Wilkie, a Dundee silversmith, with assays marks for Edinburgh, 1840. A rare bit of provincial Scottish silver; Wilkie was noted for his elegant style as seen with the finely depicted details.  

A nicely monogrammed “R” to the handle.

Measurements: 15cm length, 53.6 grams.

Very good antique condition. Slight wear to the handles commensurate with age and wear.
