A lovely Prattware pot lid which commemorates the reign of Queen Victoria, here depicted in her youth as "England's Pride". This is a particularly rare design circa mid 1840s to 1860s.
The lettering and graphics applied to these paste pots provide stunning examples of Victorian utilitarianism and insight into 19th century daily life, as well as people’s needs and aspirations at the time. These showcase both the beauty and function inherent in many such wares during Victorian times.
