A fine pair of George V crested sterling silver spoons with marks for Joseph Rodgers & Sons, Sheffield, 1911.
The firm founded by Joseph Rodgers was known for its flatware, particularly its knives; they first gained royal appointment as cutlers in 1821 and continued to enjoy royal patronage with George IV, William IV, Queen Victoria, Edward II and George V.
The crest is beautifully engraved and depicts a swan with wings aloft, standing on two rocks.
