Pair of 20th Century Chinese Yellow and Blue Polychrome Canister Jars

Lovely pair of 20th century vintage polychrome canisters with apocryphal Yongzheng imperial mark. While the inscription means "to be produced for the court of the Yongzheng emperor", this is in the style of rather than an actual early Qing imperial piece.

Still beautifully done pieces, with a gorgeous blue background to the central motifs and an excellent bright yellow. It should be noted that modern Chinese ceramics that are of exceptional commercial quality still retail for significant amounts.  These particular vintage in a collectible colour way that will appeal to collectors; relatively modern pieces are an excellent way to enter the Chinese ceramics market.

* It should be noted that while there are square ringed marks from the Yongzheng period, this particular piece is clearly apocryphal and most likely produced for export.
