A fantastic statement piece, this Art Deco .835 silver fruit bowl is by German makers Stumpf & Sohn circa 1934.
Maurice Stumpf & Sohn were active in Danzig, Germany circa 19th century to 1940s. Their large Art Deco pieces are particularly rare due to wartime privations, and this bowl with its classic Art Deco, sunburst-like shape is an outstanding example of their work. At nearly half a meter across, this is one of the most substantial pre-WWII pieces of German silver we have come across.
