Here we have a rare midcentury Chinese carved coral Guanyin or Bodhisattva miniature. Well carved with good expression. We believe this to be circa 1950s-70s. While relatively new, this is a charming and well-sized piece.
Colors are vivid; as per G.I.A. recommendations we have performed the acetone test on this piece and there is zero dye bleed, an excellent sign that this piece is a naturally desirable orange-red. Minimal inclusions but parallel striations are evident which is indicative of coral.

Excellent vintage condition.
