Lovely mid to late 19th century Samson of Paris gilt brass and porcelain lidded box. Founded in 1845, the firm specialised in high quality reproductions of 17th and 18th century porcelain from China and the great factories of Europe such as Meissen. Well-regarded back then, nowadays Samson of Paris pieces are collectible in their own right.
