Late Qing, likely late 19th to early 20th century (circa 1900) bone handled opium pipe. 4 carefully carved panels depicting a maiden in a courtyard scene. Antique opium paraphernalia was made to excite the senses and hold the viewer’s attention. The more ornate and intricate designs the better, so that opium smokers could get lost in these details.
