Late Meiji Period Japanese bronze vase with gilt seashell motifs circa 1900s
Stunning late Meiji Period Japanese bronze vase circa 1900s, with beautiful design of various seashells native to Japan. Signed in kanji to the base 風山, which we attribute to Fuzan based upon research, a signature used by various makers circa Kyoto, late Meiji Period.
An exceptional piece with excellent craftsmanship, with an interior metal flower frog which would have been of great use in the Japanese floral arrangement art ikebana.
