Charming pair of Russian antique silver and gilt sugar tongs, .875 silver purity i.e. 84 zolotniki. Very well made, with a raised hobnail design to the inner clasps and elegant tulip shaped terminals. Floral engraving to one side.
Hallmarked to the bow with Russian assay mark. Town mark is hard to make out, possibly Kostroma, unmarked otherwise.
