A large George III crested sterling silver mustard pot, with marks for John Lias, 1809, London. A fine and prolific makers, this dates to the early part of Lias’ career.
In exquisite Regency style with ball feet, shell pattern to handle and beaded border, as well as gilt-washed interior. Original glass liner missing but this is still an exquisitely made piece.
Finely engraved crest depicting a dove rising proper.
Price marked at $1000 AUD.
Measurements: 7.2cm high, 10cm length, width approx. 10cm including handle. 172 grams.
Very good antique condition, missing glass liner as mentioned above. Light wear to gilt, minor blemishes and some rubbing to marks commensurate with age.
