Elegant High Victorian sterling silver double-struck Kings Pattern ladle with marks for London, 1850, Elizabeth Eaton. A noted maker in her own right, Elizabeth’s husband William Eaton was a famous silversmith but upon his death in 1845 Elizabeth Eaton made her own path. Her work can be found in various museum as an example of famous female English silversmiths alongside Hester Bateman.

Engraved with crest of beehive to handle which was a popular symbol of industriousness and hard work, which was also the reason for the bee being adopted as the city symbol of Manchester.


Price marked at $5000 AUD.

Measurements: 336 grams, 35 cm length. Bowl width 10.5cm.

Excellent antique condition. Marks crisp and well-struck.
