A fine sterling silver George III Regency fish slice with marks for Alice & George Burrows II. Assay marks for London, 1811. This is a fine piece and Alice Burrows was a preeminent silversmith of her time, a rarity in pre-Victorian England. She was the widow of George Burrows and upon his death she established a partnership with her son in 1801. She was active as a smith up till her death in 1819.
A lovely neoclassical pierced design as well engraved scrollwork to the sides, as well as monogrammed “T” to handle.
Price marked at $600 AUD.
Weight of 118 grams, 30cm in length.
Excellent antique condition. Minimal signs of wear commentate with age.
