First edition of Gold Is where You Hide It By W. Stanley Moss circa 1956, post World War Two Memoir
A beautiful and rare first edition of Gold Is where You Hide It By W. Stanley Moss circa 1956. A hardcover edition with period illustrations to the dust jacket, this is a fascinating read of the author’s post-war sojourn tracking down the gold Nazis had plundered during WWII.
A British army officer during WWII, W. Stanley Moss took part in several operations including the abduction of General Kreipe, which he later detailed in a memoir titled Ill Met by Moonlight.
An uncommon find of his fascinating investigation into lost Reichsbank treasures as well as the situation in South Bavaria in 1945; his investigation between 1952 to 1954 investigates what happened during the final days of Nazi Germany and the aftermath.
Price marked at $180 AUD.
Measurements: 20.5cm by 14.5cm.
Overall good condition externally; one minor tear to base of dust jacket, very good internal condition, slight spotting and foxing commensurate with age.
