A beautiful Edwardian sterling silver desk standish with marks for C.F. Hancock & Co., London, 1902. A very distinguished firm founded in 1849 at 39 Bruton Street and still trading today, their pieces can be found in various institutions such as the British Museum.
An elegant desk accessory with three compartments, the smaller two containing cut glass inkwells. Hallmarks to each compartment as well as the side and base of the standish.
Price marked at $2750 AUD.
Measurements: 22.2cm length, 14.1 cm width, 5.2 cm height. 525 grams silver weight.
Overall excellent antique condition, minor chips to base of one inkwell which does not affect display or use, and not visible when placed within the standish.
