Early to mid 19th century European chinoiserie vase, most likely English in origin. Lovely coral backdrop with cobalt decoration with an oriental landscape of pagodas and a courting couple.
A well-executed piece and quite unique amongst most chinoiserie, willow ware type patterns of the time.
Hand painted model number and makers mark in gilt, likely a C.
Price marked at AUD$750.
Measurements: 16.5 cm height, 5.5 cm vase opening dia.
Condition: Some light wear to glaze and gilt, overall commensurate with age. Overall crazing; not too noticeable due to nature of background glaze. Some loss to glaze at base. Overall very good antique condition.
