A fine vintage Balinese old teak carved bust of a gentleman, carved in Batubalan circa early to mid 20th century, possibly by the Irawa family. Batubulan is a small village in Bali that is renowned for its Barong dances and the quality of woodcarving. The timber here is of a stunning dark grain with the rich hues signature to teak of this age and quality, and the statue is beautifully carved with fine details to his face and his headdress.
