A beautiful Australian watercolour by listed artist Lawrence White circa 1942, signature and date inscription to lower left corner .
Beautifully depicting the sun-filled Australian countryside, the sunlight and haystacks are vividly depicted. Lawrence Oliphant White (1914-1974) was a Tasmanian artist who travelled around Australia. With his skill and a keen eye for colour, his works are represented in the National Gallery of Victoria. During the 1940s he was much inspired by the pastoral landscape of South Australia, and this work bears strong stylistic similarities to another notable work of his “The Gawler Valley, 1940”. We believe this piece, painted around the same time period, was likely also painted in South Australia.
A fine collectible piece which captures the beauty and pastoral spirit of bygone Australia, and will continue to appreciate in value. In later frame with framer’s label to back. Ready to hang and display.

Price marked at $1000 AUD.
Framed measurements: 47.5 by 52cm
