Rare antique New Zealand sterling silver and nephrite jade souvenir spoon, Adolph Kohn, Auckland

Small but elegant, this rare antique New Zealand gilt on sterling silver souvenir spoon with nephrite jade handle bears the sponsor’s mark for Adolph Kohn (1856-1910), who was active in Auckland during the late 19th to turn of the century. Beautifully engraved Auckland inscription and native flora motifs to the bowl. Nephrite is native to New Zealand amongst other countries and has been prized throughout time for its beauty and rich green shade.
