Lovely mid 19th century English Ironstone Imari plate produced by Francis Morley circa 1852 to 1858 with gilt details and raised pattern. Backstamp to base of plate which incorporates the well-known Mason’s crown. Francis Morley was active from 1845 to 1858, and was a well known Stoke-on-Trent manufacturer. In 1852 he purchased C.J. Mason’s moulds, and from thereon incorporated the Mason’s crown in his backstamp as well as producing fine Ironstone ware. Beautifully done with finely painted tones of red and blue glaze as well as gilt trim., with well-executed pagoda and island temple scenes.
