This lovely unmarked early 19th century English blue and white transfer ware plate circa 1810 is an early example of English Blue Willow, and is specifically a design by Spode. Originally called Temple, this pattern nowadays referred to as Two Temples, as this variation includes an extra figure in the garden. We see early elements of the Blue Willow pattern, such as the two temples, two figures on the bridge as well as the stylised butterfly and scrolled pattern.

A very nicely done piece which based upon research can be attributed to Spode- there is a blue backstamp to the base of the dish which compares to other Two Temple by Spode pieces, which has unfortunately become blurred with age.

Price marked at $250 AUD.

Measurements: 20.5cm diameter.

Excellent antique condition. Light wear overall commensurate with age but firing flaws to foot.
