A particularly fine and desirable example of an early English Blue Willow pattern, dating early 19th century circa 1800s to 1810s. Many early pieces such as this one are unmarked, but this pattern was developed at Turner’s pottery of Lane End circa 1800 and is sometimes referred to “Turner Willow”, and was used by noted makers such as Mason’s Ironstone. An identical plate was noted by the International Willow Collectors Society to be produced by Turner circa 1805.
Price marked at $160 AUD.
Measurements: 23 cm diameter, 3cm height.
Excellent antique condition. Minor firing flaws to base and mild wear commensurate with age. Pattern is crisp and legible.
