Exceptional and rare antique late 18th century Derby porcelain plate with Imari palette and gilt details . Marked with an early Derby puce hand-painted mark from the Nottingham Road Factory with a crown and crossed batons, this mark was used in the puce variation from the 1780s to 1790s, with an old provenance label on this piece dating this plate at 1793. A stunning piece that would have belonged to a household of note.

Gilt rim and embellishment has been used to great effect in this piece; not just on the plate rim, but also to vein the leaves and accent curlicue scrolls. Similarly, rich blue and iron red glazes here have been imaginatively used, such as with two tone shades to denote depth and an ombré pattern to the open blossoms.

Price marked at $800 AUD.
Measurements: 20cm diameter, 3cm height
Very good antique condition with some gilt loss, particularly to rim.
