This beautiful Georgian plate is circa 1775 and is from the Chelsea-Derby factory. The Chelsea Porcelain Manufactory was one of the first and one of the most important English porcelain manufacturers (1743-45). In 1770 they merged with Derby porcelain, another great maker in English porcelain history.
Here you can see an exquisite monochrome blue-green floral pattern, with a lovely fluted and gilded rim. Loosely executed swags of blue-green roses drape from gold rings; a really classic Regency style and a piece that will only increase in desirability over time. A particularly rare and desirable pattern. Puce anchor mark to base of plate, crisp and legible.
Price marked at $1050 AUD.
Measurements: 23.5cm diameter, approx. 3 cm height.
Good antique condition. Gilt loss, particularly to one area of the garland swags. Otherwise light wear overall commensurate with age.
