A fine and rare Australian Colonial 19th century Bullseye Banded Agate pendant in 15ct gold.
This lovely banded agate is beautifully set in a 15carat gold filigree setting. After Queen Victoria and Prince Albert purchased Balmoral in 1852, agates became popular for their naturalistic beauty and form. Bullseye agates such as this one were particularly prized.
Hallmarked 15ct gold to back as well as maker’s mark. Monogrammed WM to back.
