A handsome pair of William IV sterling silver sugar tongs, with marks for John, Henry & Charles Lias, London 1830. John Lias began his silversmithing career in 1791, but entered into partnership with his sons Henry and Charles from 1823 to 1836. The Lias brothers were known as manufacturers of quality flatware manufacturer and this is a fine example of their work. Of substantial gauge and with crisp hallmarks, this is a desirable piece for collectors of antique English silver. Monogrammed “M” to the bow.

Measurements: 14.8cm length, 43.4grams. 

Excellent antique condition. Some light wear overall commensurate with age, hallmarks are crisp.
