Antique Mayer & Newbold porcelain spill vase circa 1820, in the Imari style
A rare marked Mayer & Newbold porcelain spill vase circa 1820, made in the Imari style which was then en vogue. Gilt details through out with urn body and cream ground to body. Mayer & Newbold operated in Lane End, in the Parish of Stoke-upon-Trent from 1817 to 1833. Examples of their work are exhibited at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London.
Red M & N mark to base.

Measurements: 24.5 cm height, approximately 11.5cm diameter at widest point.
Fair antique condition; hairline crack to back, historic restoration which has been professionally restabilised. Minor wear overall commensurate with age.
