Antique late Victorian sterling silver and ruby glass scent or toiletry bottle

Beautiful sterling silver and ruby glass scent or toiletry bottle, with assay marks for 1898, Birmingham, Charles May & Sons.

Active from 1888 to 1912, the firm produced many small fine silver items and were known for the quality of their scent bottles.

This is a lovely example with a beautifully facetted cut glass stopper, and the repousse work to the sterling silver top is well made and in excellent condition.

Measurements: 4cm base diameter, 7.5cm height.

Good antique condition. Chip to the base of the bottle, does not affect use.
