Antique Hong Kong Chinese Export Silver Swing-Handled Basket with Pierced Auspicious Motifs

A charming antique Chinese export silver pierced basket with Chinese characters for Health, Peace, Prosperity and Longevity. A really lovely piece that I could see in a traditional Chinese household during the Lunar New Year as well as for collectors of Chinese export silver. Marks for Guang Ji, a Hong Kong silversmith and retailer active from 1890-1920. We believe based on marks that this piece was likely made within the first two decades of the 20th century.

These pieces stamped SILVER on the base are usually sterling, and we estimate this piece to be .900 to .925 silver purity.
