A charming George III sterling silver condiment spoon with assay marks for Thomas Wilkes Barker, London 1808; town mark missing but year and duty mark congruent with London marks of that period. Well made with gilt-washed bowl.
A crest depicting a unicorn’s head erased and collared, most likely a connexion to the Gerling family of Norfolk who is first mentioned in records dating to 1296.
Price marked at $175AUD
Measurements: 10.5cm length, 17.3 grams.
Very good antique condition; wear to gilt, marks crisp and well-struck asides from missing town mark.
