Here we have a beautiful piece of South Australian history- a 9ct gold medal that was awarded to the Senior Champion of Queen’s School, Adelaide in 1903.
From 1891 to 1949, the Queen’s School was one of Australia’s leading private schools, with alumni including the Nobel laureate Sir William Thomas Bragg. Poignantly, in WWI around 200 "old boys" enlisted, 34 losing their lives.
Engraved with initials within central cartouche to the obverse and medal inscription to the reverse.
