A very fine Chinese porcelain and timber table screen, likely late Qing to early Republic period (circa 1900s-1930s). The porcelain plaques are unsigned but bear the characteristics of fine 20th century Jingdezhen work, and bear the motifs of a scholar teaching a young boy, his student, amidst various outdoor scenes. The scenes in each panel suggest the changing of the seasons, with bamboo, water lotuses, pine trees and plum blossoms appearing in each panel respectively.
