This lovely and rare jade cup from the Qing Period, circa 19th century, is beautifully carved in the archaic style. With twin dragon handles, the style and finely done granulation work suggests inspiration from the bronzes of the Eastern Zhou period (770-256 BC).
See a piece with similar techniques used in the Met Museum: https://www.metmuseum.org/art/collection/search/39840 ; such techniques were common in civilisations of antiquity, as the Victorians would discover with the Etruscan treasure hoards.
The jade too is of a lovely fine, almost celadon like quality; some natural inclusions particularly to the back but still a beautiful piece.
Width from handle to handle 13.5cm. Height of 5cm. Diameter of 7 cm.
