One antique Victorian sterling silver Lily pattern tablespoon with marks for London, 1864, Chawner & Co (George Adams period).
This design was first registered in 1850 by Elkington, and appears in the Chawner & Co. pattern book as Lily.
A lovely example of mid-Victorian naturalism, services in this pattern are scarce and desirable. Monogrammed “L” initial of the period to the handle.
Made by Chawner & Co. during the George Adams period, one of our favourite firms and makers. Chawner & Co. were fine and prolific makers, supplying retailers such as Hunt & Roskell, R.& S. Garrard & Co & Elkington & Co.
Price marked at $1600 AUD.
Measurements: 99 grams, 22cm length.
Excellent antique condition with minor wear overall commensurate with age. Marks crisp and well-struck.
