Here we have a fine antique print circa 1910s to 1920s in its original frame after the famous 16th century masterpiece Madonna della Sedia or Madonna della Seggiola by Raphael.

This particular piece was published under The Medici Prints company, later named The Medici Society. The company was established in 1908 to published high quality colour reproductions of Old Master Paintings, and their older pieces are of fine quality and quite desirable.

The verso on the back indicates that this was retailed here in Sydney by Anthony Hordern & Sons, whose department store was one of the premier shopping destinations in NSW and indeed Australia back in the day. A newspaper article published in 1913 refers to the excellent quality of their merchandise, as well as fine art and paintings from Europe and Britain. 

Price marked at $300 AUD.

Frame measurements are 62 by 62 cm.

Good antique condition overall. Some wear to frame and some fading to the artwork. Wear to back. Displays well and can be hung as is.
