19th Century Victorian Tartan Ware Box Decoupaged w Penny Red Stamp
19th Century Victorian Tartan Ware Box Decoupaged w Penny Red Stamp
A mid to late 19th century tartanware stamp box, decoupaged with a quirky Victorian Penny Red Stamp. The Penny Red stamp succeeded the Penny Black stamp in 1841 and was in circulation until 1879 which places the box within this time period. Perfect for small trinkets or keepsakes. Inlay is in good condition. This combination of tartanware and decoupage is very desirable with one other example we found priced at £180 excluding shipping and VAT
A classic pattern in the McDuff clan tartan.
Price marked at $300 AUD.
Measurements: 4.5 diameter, 2cm height.
Condition: Good antique condition with some wear as pictured commensurate with age. Stamp somewhat faded as is typical of delicate stamp paper from this era when decoupaged.
