A well painted and lovely 19th-century Japanese Imari ginger jar with well-executed blossom motifs and figural peach finial.
Handpainted and glazed in the Imari style with expressive colours and details. Imari is enjoying a resurgence and this lidded jar is a very collectible example.
Good antique condition; small manufacturing flaws to glaze, with the most obvious ones as pictured. Wear to base including a slight base to base, not too noticeable when displayed. Light wear to glaze commensurate with age. Heavy gilt loss. Still displays wonderfully.
Measurements: Approximately 13 cm high, with 8 cm diameter at widest part of gourd.
Price marked at AUD$600.
Measurements: 10cm across at widest point, 23 cm high.
